Breathing new life in to the tired old detective novel.

It starts with great titles (not that we judge books by their covers at all) and just gets better. Gritty realism, witty satire and twisty plots ensue. Hurrah!

Only read three so far, but eager to read the rest - how can you fault somonme who includes on his dust jacket:

"Dress Casual. Bring your own bullets."

Cool, I shall sek him out. I have been reading the Donna Leon "Brunetti" books, which I have enjoyed. Good murder mysteries with wonderful descriptions of Venice, she has a real flair for atmosphere and mixing the personal life and character of her detective with a decent story.
