Books Without Borders :: The Unbearable Lightness Of Being

I just finished this earlier today. I was oddly detached for most of it, but thoroughly enjoyed it and expect i shall read it again at some point.
The book is slightly disjointed in timemoving around between points int he key characters lives. It's also very clear from the beginging that the author is talking to us and that these characters were born when he started writing, they are not real people.
It's not a book i would have normally picked up, but someone recommeded it and it was a good recommendation. As a result i think i shall probably order some of the other books i was recommended by this person including the Buddha of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi.
